The role partners with stakeholders to design and implement sustainable, culturally safe and evidence-based workforce solutions that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professions in delivering high-quality care to First Nations communities. Through strategic advice, project leadership and collaboration, the position contributes to innovative service models and workforce redesign that improve health outcomes and system performance.
You will
- Provide authoritative advice to executive leadership and stakeholders on workforce transformation, cultural governance, capability assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of workforce development projects, including business cases, project plans, risk management and reporting.
- Analyse data, research and performance information to inform strategy, service redesign and evidence-based workforce initiatives.
- Develop policies, systems and procedures to support sustainable workforce capability and culturally safe service delivery models.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external partners—including community-controlled organisations, professional associations and government agencies—to deliver innovative and efficient workforce solutions.
- Support the design and delivery of education and training programs aligned with First Nations workforce and organisational development priorities.
About you
Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent in this role to be an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
We are searching for someone who:
- holds the required Diploma qualification in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or equivalent relevant qualification), and where applicable, current registration with Ahpra as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
- brings strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues and primary health care principles, with experience influencing quality standards and service outcomes.
- has demonstrated experience in workforce development, program design and implementation within complex healthcare or community settings.
- possesses high-level analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop culturally safe, evidence-based initiatives.
- is an effective communicator and relationship-builder, able to engage respectfully with communities, executives and diverse stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
