Role details
The Strategic Finance at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Director to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The role is responsible for the oversight of the strategic financial and activity planning for the organisation (annual and long term), providing performance and financial reporting and analysis in accordance with the integrated Performance Reporting Framework, including Board reporting and monitoring and supporting negotiation of the Funding Service Agreement for the HHS. The role leads teams responsible for developing, monitoring and enhancing the Management Accounting and Financial Budgeting, Activity Reporting and Costing and Finance Reporting functions for MHHS to ensure it contributes positively to the efficient and effective management of MHHS.
- Provide strategic finance leadership and advice to MHHS senior management with respect to all aspects of activity and financial budgeting and forecasting, activity-based management and reporting processes for the organisation.
- Provide strategic business partner support to the operational divisional leadership in the Organisation.
- Provide expert analysis, advice and recommendations to the Board, Finance Committee, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Executive Management Team (EMT) and executive management in relation to financial strategy and planning, health and activity funding, management accounting and advice designed to improve and enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of management information and reporting.
- Provide leadership to achieve organisational objectives through developing a high-performing team, supporting development, providing direction, guidance and day-to-day management of the Management Accounting Unit of the MHHS and ensure the integrity, credibility and completeness of all MHHS financial and activity reporting, health costing, management accounting.
- Provide strategic leadership, direction, guidance and day-to-day management of the Management Accounting Unit of the MHHS and ensure the integrity, credibility and completeness of all MHHS management accounting and business records and reporting.
