Senior Forest Ranger (Timber Operations)

Department of Primary Industries are seeking team-focused individuals to join our Forestry team as Senior Forest Rangers at various locations.
In this hands-on role, you will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to implement responsible forestry practices, mark trees for products and environmental protection, assist with field work to prepare operational plans, and ensure compliance with the relevant Codes and legislation.
We value strong communication, collaboration, and a positive attitude. This role involves outdoor work, regular travel, and operating 4WD vehicles in remote areas. A manual 'C' class driver’s licence is essential.

Department of Primary Industries are seeking a passionate and capable individuals to join our team as a Senior Forest Ranger (Timber Operations) at various locations.
In this important role, you will contribute to the sustainable management of Queensland's forest resources by implementing forestry practices, policies and procedures for the harvesting and marketing of forest products. You will ensure compliance with Forest Harvesting Codes, Forestry Act 1959 and other relevant legislation, supporting the responsible use of natural resources while protecting environmental, social and cultural values.
As a Senior Forest Ranger, you will take an active role in implementing efficient and environmentally responsible operational programs. Your responsibilities will include the selection and marking of trees for various products and environmental protection, assisting with field work to prepare operational plans, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards, and contributing to the effective management of forest harvesting operations. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure forestry operations meet the highest standards of safety, responsibility and efficiency.
We are seeking individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in problemsolving. A positive attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential. While relevant field experience is highly regarded, we welcome applicants who are eager to learn and contribute to our shared goals.
This role involves regular travel, working in outdoor environments, and operating 4WD vehicles in remote and challenging terrains. A manual 'C' class driver's licence is mandatory.
There are multiple positions available in Roma, Rockhampton, Monto & Munduberra. Please advise your preference of work location on your application.
