Glenala State High School is seeking a Canteen Assistant to support our Canteen Convenor in a fast-paced, busy environment.

We are looking for a team player who can deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and hygienic canteen operation.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

As the Canteen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Glenala State High School's busy canteen. Reporting to the Canteen Supervisor and Business Services Manager, you will contribute to creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing quality customer service, including food preparation, counter service, and cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for food preparation, storage, and handling.
  • Following daily menu plans and adhering to food preparation procedures.
  • Operating a cash register and managing cash transactions efficiently.
  • Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety practices and reporting equipment malfunctions promptly.
