Senior Project Officer

Make a meaningful contribution to Queensland’s transport planning framework as a Senior Project Officer! You will lead Statutory Corridor Declaration operations, manage spatial data and computer-based systems, and provide expert advice to clients and senior stakeholders. Working collaboratively across the department, you will support evidence-based decision making, deliver clear guidance and presentations, and help ensure transport corridors are planned and managed effectively for the benefit of the community.

The purpose of the Senior Project Officer is to provide leadership and support to transport planning projects involving PRISM and Statutory Corridor Declarations, including managing spatial data.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Statutory Corridor Declaration operations for the department, including production and publication of the Public Passenger Transport Guideline.
- Manage the design, development, implementation and analytical application of computer-based systems and databases that include but are not limited to MapInfo, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Provide operational advice, information and support to clients and senior officers, as well as provide informal presentations as required.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all clients and stakeholders.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and adjusting the message to resonate with different stakeholders
- Ability to build and maintain relationships to work together effectively on customer-focused goals
- Experience in applying specialist knowledge and technical skills, including GIS and associated databases.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to identify issues, interpret complex data and develop practical solutions to support transport planning and spatial data initiatives.
