Mackenzie State Special School is seeking a passionate educational leader to make a real difference in the lives of students with complex needs.
As the Deputy Principal, you will play a vital role in improving educational outcomes for all students by enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
You will work closely with the principal to implement a strategic vision aligned with Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum, ensuring that learning is accessible, purposeful, and inclusive.
Your leadership will help build a school culture that values wellbeing, inclusion, collaboration, and evidence-informed practice.

Who We Are:
Mackenzie State Special School is a P-12 school located on the south side of Brisbane within the Metropolitan South Region of Education Queensland. The school is close to the Gateway Arterial and Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road.
We are a unique campus that shares some facilities with Mackenzie State Primary School. Both schools operate separately and have their own Principal.
Step Into Your Next Chapter:
- Collaborate with the Principal to lead the development of a shared school vision focused on high-quality, differentiated learning outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities.
- Provide expert curriculum and pedagogical leadership aligned with the Australian Curriculum Version 9, supporting staff to develop learning programs that prioritise deep understanding, transferable knowledge, and student engagement.
- Strengthen inclusive practices by guiding staff in using data to inform teaching, monitoring progress, and adjusting strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with students, families, support agencies, and community organisations to enhance learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture where respectful relationships, high expectations, and collaborative practices are at the core.
- Promote staff development and high performance through mentoring, professional learning, and evidence-based instructional leadership.
