Expressions of Interest are invited for the position of Head of Special Education Services at Southport State School.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual who is a skilled instructional leader with strong organisational skills and a well-developed understanding of how to support staff working with students accessing Individual Curriculum Plans and Personalised Learning Plans.

  • Lead NCCD Data Collection
  • Lead a medium sized Inclusive Learning Teaching Team
  • Oversight of Students with Disabilities
  • Oversight of an EAL/D department
  • Lead co-teaching classes across our school
  • Improve the educational outcomes of students in the school
  • Develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
  • Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division

The Perfect Fit:

Experience in leading Case Managers, or similar, will be highly regarded.

Advanced studies in the field of special education will also be highly regarded, reflecting a deep commitment to inclusive practice, specialised expertise, and improved outcomes for diverse learners.
