Your new role:

During this fellowship year, you will advance your perioperative medicine expertise while working toward certification and Fellowship readiness by:

  • Contributing to inpatient and outpatient anaesthetic care, including consultative services and procedural support
  • Actively participating in perioperative high-risk clinics, multidisciplinary meetings and pre-admission clinics
  • Undertaking ward rounds and outpatient clinics as part of a registered clinical immersion site
  • Participating in consultant, duty anaesthetist and (as required) registrar rosters including weekend and shift work
  • Supervising registrars and residents as you transition toward future Fellow responsibilities
  • Maintaining comprehensive clinical documentation and delivering safe, high-quality patient-centred care

About you:

You are a motivated and forward-thinking anaesthetic trainee ready to complete Fellowship and perioperative medicine certification, bringing:

  • Current AHPRA registration and ANZCA trainee registration
  • Successful completion of the ANZCA Fellowship examination
  • Eligibility for Provisional Fellowship with ANZCA at commencement
  • Enrolment in the GChPOM course at commencement
  • Strong clinical knowledge and sound decision-making skills in perioperative care
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and self-directed professional development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • A collaborative team focus with the ability to supervise and support junior colleagues

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
