The predominant focus of this role will be on teaching reading through the curriculum, supporting whole school approach, through modelled lessons, coaching cycles and supporting teachers and teacher aides.
This role will assist to :
- Build leadership capacity by providing teachers with professional development and by promoting evidence-based communities of practice.
- Provide discipline knowledge and advice to school leadership teams fundamental to enacting programs that meet specified targets.
- Develop teacher capability and provide professional development that is needs based and provides on-going support for teachers. The coach will work with other leaders to prioritise the teaching of programs within the school's curriculum framework.
- Improve the capacity of school teams to use evidence-based assessment, supporting staff in the analysis of and response to systemic and student data.
- Lead strategies to maximise student achievement and support other school and/or departmental initiatives as required.
- Improve student outcomes by modelling quality teaching and/or programs across all year levels (Prep to Year 6) and provide coaching and guidance to classroom teachers in delivering teaching and/or programs.
