The Team Leader, Online Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Department of Justice’s (DoJ) Online Services team and contributing to the function’s strategic direction.

The Online Services team:

  • manages the DoJ internet and intranet sites, including sections of the Queensland Government website
  • provides technical and publishing support, training and specialist online services, best practice advice and website redesign
  • conducts business analysis, content production, design and placement, andonline brand management
  • manages contracts and technical administration for the content management system and related products

Team Leader, Online Services 

The Team Leader, Online Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Department of Justice's (DoJ) Online Services team and contributing to the function's strategic direction.

The Online Services team: 

  • manages the DoJ internet and intranet sites, including sections of the Queensland Government website
  • provides technical and publishing support, training and specialist online services, best practice advice and website redesign
  • conducts business analysis, content production, design and placement, and online brand management
  • manages contracts and technical administration for the content management system and related products

Your key responsibilities 

  • Oversee the Online Services team, as a team of online developers and content professionals, to develop and deliver innovative online strategies.
  • Develop and execute technical and editorial strategies and solutions to support the delivery of effective, user-friendly, accessible and accurate web content.
  • Oversee the technical development and maintenance of the department's enterprise content management system, Squiz Matrix.
  • Manage documentation to support web development, including analysis and project estimates, status reports, maintenance instructions and user guides.
  • Provide project management expertise and oversight in delivering online projects that align with departmental priorities.
  • Develop and implement initiatives, processes and systems to support effective management of the department's online channels including intranet, DoJ corporate website and Queensland Government franchise.

Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of complex online projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, using a wide range of tools and channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in website development and editorial with exposure to development languages and working with enterprise content management systems.
  • A contemporary industry knowledge of web editorial and publishing best practice and contribute to continuous improvement of online services for the department.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients, and provide high-level advice to quickly address and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible when dealing with changing business needs, and an ability to negotiate desired outcomes and solutions across a range of online projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.

Reports to: Manager, Online Services

Collaborates with: Strategic Communications Branch, business areas across the Justice portfolio, the Public Sector Commission, and other Queensland government agencies.

About the Strategic Communications Branch

The Strategic Communications Branch is one of seven branches in the Community Services and Consumer Protection division.
