Your new role:
As a Patient Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting hospital service delivery by providing timely, accurate and professional administrative assistance to patients, clinical teams and staff. Reporting operationally to the Nurse Unit Manager and professionally to the Office/Administration Manager, you will ensure smooth coordination of appointments, waiting lists and patient records within a fast-paced healthcare setting.
This role operates primarily Monday to Friday (07:30 – 15:36), with potential rostered shifts between 07:30 and 16:30.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to patient and staff enquiries via phone, email and in person
- Maintain and manage patient waiting lists, bookings, cancellations and rescheduling
- Register and update patient demographic, Medicare and referral information within hospital systems (e.g. HBCIS, ESM)
- Track patient charts, health fund details and admissions while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
