The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Administration Officer (Adult Outpatient Department) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide excellent customer service with parent, patients, and members of the public and staff both in person and over the telephone
  • Proficiently complete functions associated with updating patient demographics in Hospital Base Client Information System and appointment bookings on Enterprise Scheduling Management
  • Ensure all patient enquiries including messages, bookings and appointment change requests are processed quickly and accurately
  • Manage workloads appropriately; prioritising tasks, ensuring work is completed within designated timeframes

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification and/or experience with computer databases such as Hospital Base Client Information System, Enterprise Scheduling Management, Referral Management System as well as knowledge of the medical terminology in a health care setting would be well regarded
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Casual
  • Base salary ranging from $49.98 - $55.58 per hour

Adult Outpatients is one department operating across two hospital sites (Robina and Gold Coast University Hospital) along with our Scheduling and Referral Centre and Review Appointment Call Centre located in Southport.  We provide ambulatory care to a large and diverse client base in a hospital setting encompassing multiple medical specialties
