About the opportunity
The Ingham Health Service are seeking Full-Time or Part-Time Senior Medical Officers with Advanced Skill Training in Anaesthesia, Obstetrics or Emergency to join our team.
This position focusses on providing medical leadership and supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical services as a part of the multidisciplinary team delivering secondary level 3 CFCS health services to the community of Ingham and surrounding Hinchinbrook shire

Ingham Health Service is a 28-bed inpatient facility, Level 3 CFCS with Maternity, Emergency, Medical Imaging, Pharmacy, Allied Health, Endoscopy outreach services and General Surgical Lists..
Ingham is a rural community 110km north from Townsville along the Bruce Highway and the traditional owners are the Warrgamay People. Ingham population is approximately 5,000, although the town services the 11,000 people who make up the Hinchinbrook Shire.
The town is 17km from the coast, within the flood plain of the Herbert River. Sugar is the dominant industry, along with watermelon, rice, horticulture, fishing, timber, and tourism. Wallaman Falls, the highest single waterfall drop in Australia, and the beautiful Hinchinbrook Island are only parts of the nearby Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
Competitive salary and benefits:

- Base salary range: $187,569 - $274,678 p.a. (L13-L27)
- Attraction & Retention up to $109,871 p.a.
- Inaccessibility scheme $13,800 p.a.
- Vehicle allowance up to $28,408 p.a.

- Locality allowance + Leave Loading 17.5% p.a. + more benefits

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Either:
- Currently enrolled with the Australian General Practice Training Program or alternatives available including RVTS or Independent pathway; or
- Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is preferred
- Ideally the candidate would be a Rural Generalist with:
- successful completion of advanced skills training in Anaesthetics ( JCCA, Dip RGA, Advanced Certification in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia ) or about to complete training year (pending examination)
- This position may also have the incumbent work at other facilities within the THHS.
