We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Enforcement Officer to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role is required to conduct investigations into potential offences under the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008, to make renting work for everyone by providing services that uphold fairness, integrity and balance within Queensland's residential rental sector.

This position is a permanent, full-time role and is located in the Brisbane CBD with generous flexible working arrangements.

The role of a Compliance and Enforcement Officer is to investigate alleged offences and undertake proactive compliance monitoring and audits in line with the RTA's Compliance and Enforcement Action Plan and Policy. Investigations are to be conducted with procedural fairness and impartiality to provide appropriate fact-based outcomes. This position will also involve managing a high-volume caseload.

To be successful you will need:

  • The ability to assess and analyse evidence and employ various investigative strategies to thoroughly examine alleged offences and enforce outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks whilst managing a high-volume caseload
  • Recent experience in compliance and enforcement or regulatory and legislative environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and passion for delivering quality customer service and outcomes to promote regulatory compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 will be highly regarded.
