North Queensland Region consists of Far North, North West and Northern districts with offices in Cairns, Cloncurry and Townsville the region extends from the tip of Australia (including islands), west to Camooweal (Northern Territory border) and as far south as Home Hill.

The Role
In the role of Surveyor, you will manage survey projects to ensure services meet all objectives through the phases of engineering project cycles of planning, designing, constructing and managing the road network.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Manage engineering survey projects, survey contractors and field staff to ensure timely completion and adherence to scope and quality to meet the project cycle requirements.
• Undertake specialised survey projects and provide technical expertise and consultancy service in geospatial applications to a diverse range of customers to ensure success, value for money and best practice are adopted.
• Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to survey projects.
• Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), TMR surveying standards and governance obligations.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A three (3) year degree in Surveying from a recognised tertiary institution or a qualification that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor/surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ).
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
