About the role
This position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will be required to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement reflecting Brisbane as their primary office location. While the role allows for flexibility in working from home, regular in-person attendance at the Brisbane office is a mandatory requirement.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality trust account oversight by auditing project and retention trust accounts, identifying breaches, and driving appropriate compliance and enforcement action under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading audits and investigations into trust account activity, assessing compliance, and initiating enforcement action where required.
- Providing clear, authoritative advice to trustees, beneficiaries, and internal teams on legislative obligations and trust account requirements.
- Building strong working relationships within the audit team and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best‑practice compliance.
- Monitoring trust account performance, reviewing independent audit reports, and recommending targeted compliance or enforcement responses to support the integrity of the security of payment framework.
