As a Teacher with TAFE Queensland Brisbane, you will have the opportunity to impart your extensive industry knowledge and experience to students using a variety of delivery methods including in the classroom, online, and workplace. You will also enjoy the satisfaction of giving students from diverse backgrounds the skills they need to succeed at work and in their future.

The Role 

As a Teacher in the Animal Science team, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

We have an exciting temporary full-time Teaching position available until 26 June 2026 (unless otherwise determined) within our Animal Sciences team, at TAFE Queensland’s Redcliffe Campus.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a Teacher (Step 1-4) is $92,930.03 - $105,218.10 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Professional development, study assistance and support to return to industry for currency and competency purposes

 

Mandatory Requirements 

Applicants must possess the following:

Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;

o ACM30122 – Certificate III in Animal Care Services

o ACM30321 – Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited care

o ACM40418 – Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing 

current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or

TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or 

TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; plus:

o TAELLN411 or its successor or TAELLN401A; and

o TAEASS502 or its successor or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B; or

A credential issued by a higher education provider which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher and one (1) of the following credentials:

o TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor, or 

o TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor; or

o TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set; or 

A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
