- Lead and manage a team, foster an equitable and fair workplace ethos through the implementation of frameworks such as supervision and employee performance management tools which encourages and empowers individual staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning by ensuring team priorities align with broader organisation objectives, supporting key decision-making, and exercising appropriate financial and human resource delegations.
- Develop, supervise, deliver and evaluate quality ABL training for agency staff and case managers of young people in the youth justice system or at risk of entering the youth justice system.
- Supervise training and support plans with Youth Justice staff and with external human service agencies, to meet the organisational needs and those of young people.

Targeted Vacancy
To provide operational team management and supervision in the delivery of Adventure Based Learning (ABL) training for staff who deliver intervention youth services and programming. Oversee partnerships with key agencies across the government and non-government sector while continuing to develop, implement and evaluate service delivery responses appropriate for young people who offend or are identified as being at risk of offending. Promote and develop the train, resource and support model, engaging with agencies to appropriately integrate intentional ABL programming into their service delivery.
- You have worked for at least three years in the human service industry and can demonstrate experience in an area that involves at least one of the following: youth; small group work leading to behavioural change, personal development and/or therapeutic change; and case management.
- You have at least two years' experience in leading groups (including assessing others) in at least two activity specialisations (including (but not limited to) bushwalking, canoeing, climbing, sea kayaking and challenge ropes. At least one of your activity specialisations needs to be water based and at least one being land based. In addition, you may be required to attain additional specialisations to suit the workplace, as directed by the Manager.
- Possession of qualifications within the fields of management, human services, adventure-based learning, outdoor recreation and/or vocational training will be an advantage. Completion of the: Certificate IV in Youth Justice (CHC40513); the Certificate IV of Outdoor Recreation (SIS40310) and the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) must be achieved within twelve months of appointment if not currently in possession of them.
- You have experience in group leadership, supervision and training regarding the design, facilitation, risk management and evaluation of Adventure Based Learning programs.
