About the School:

Dysart State High School is located in the Central Highlands of Queensland, part of the Bowen Basin.

Established in 1982, Dysart State High School plays a key role as the centre of our community - ensuring that the young people of Dysart and surrounds have access to every available educational opportunity.

Currently the school has a student population of approximately 197 students from Year 7 to 12.

We have an extensive range of school facilities that include upgraded Science facilities and Trade Training Centre - focussing on Industrial Design and Technology and Hospitality.

We have collaborative relationships with a range of businesses from local to global companies supporting our school and providing a range of learning opportunities, apprenticeships and traineeships.

This is underpinned by our school values of Respect, Results, Resilience and Responsibility.

About the Role:

  • Guide and manage the implementation of high-quality teaching and learning, pedagogy, curriculum and assessment
  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.

The Perfect Fit:

  • Experience in leading teaching and learning, particularly in relation to implementation of version 9.0 Australian Curriculum and QCAA senior schooling programs
  • Experience in OneSchool timetable development, as well as supervision management
  • Commitment to nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders
  • Commitment to building a positive culture of learning based on quality relationships and curriculum delivery
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and positively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead complex change
  • Be organised and manage time effectively
