We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Social Worker to join the Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals Social Work Department. In this pivotal clinical role, you will provide high-level Social Work services to patients, families and carers, particularly those experiencing acute psychosocial trauma or complex multidimensional needs.

About the role

Working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence‑based interventions across the Intensive Care Unit and Medicine and Older Persons services, with the flexibility to support other acute areas as required. Your work will directly contribute to optimising psychosocial outcomes and enhancing the overall healthcare experience for patients and families.

This role requires participation in a seven‑day shift work roster and the ability to respond to hospital emergencies as delegated.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver high level evidence based clinical services, including crisis counselling, in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and AASW Professional Practice Standards through assessing clinical risk and the complex psychosocial needs of patients/families/carers.
  • Exercise independent high level Social Work clinical decision-making skills integrating evidence-based practice to contribute to multidisciplinary complex case management to achieve best practice outcomes with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • Demonstrate high-level understanding of the environment in which clinical decisions are made to influence health outcomes, including a broad understanding of the continuum of care and the organisational provision of multidisciplinary health services.
