Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse within the Diabetes and Endocrinology Department, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care and diabetes education to patients with complex needs across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers lifestyle-friendly hours within an 8:00am to 4:30pm roster, flexibility for part-time arrangements, and strong clinical support within a close-knit multidisciplinary team. In this role you will:
- Deliver specialist diabetes nursing care and self-management education for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin pump and diabetes technology support.
- Work across inpatient and outpatient services, commencing within the Diabetes team and expanding to broader clinical settings as your role develops.
- Contribute to clinical leadership, education, quality improvement and research activities within a tertiary diabetes and endocrinology service.
About you:
You are a motivated and clinically confident Registered Nurse with a passion for diabetes and endocrine nursing. You enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit, multidisciplinary team. You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in diabetes nursing, including care of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and exposure to insulin pump technology.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, with completion of, or progression toward, a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management highly regarded.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team culture.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
