Your new role:

As a Registered Nurse – Clinical Research, you will play a key role in supporting oncology clinical trials while delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients participating in research studies. Working closely with investigators and the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will help coordinate clinical trial activities and ensure protocols are delivered safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred nursing care to patients participating in oncology clinical trials.
  • Coordinate clinical trial processes including participant screening, informed consent support, and management of scheduled and unscheduled research visits.
  • Implement research protocols and support the administration of investigational medications in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.
  • Maintain accurate data collection and documentation, including reporting adverse events and ensuring compliance with research governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with investigators, clinical teams and research staff across Metro South and partner organisations.

About you:

You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through clinical research. You bring strong clinical knowledge, excellent organisational skills and a collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality person-centred care.
  • Interest in or experience with clinical research, including protocol implementation, data management and patient monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with investigators, healthcare professionals and patients.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

About us:

The Division of Cancer Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service in one of Australia's largest teaching hospitals. The hospital provides a comprehensive adult cancer service encompassing haematological, surgical, and medical and radiation oncology specialties, including immunotherapy, cell therapy, and cancer vaccines and autologous stem cell transplantation. Cancer Services are the state referral centre for some rare malignancies and provides highly specialised care for Melanoma, Upper Gastrointestinal, Germ Cell, Sarcoma, High Grade Lymphoma and Acute Leukaemia. This care is supported by the Stem Cell Program.
