About the role

Mount Isa Hospital is the regional birthing hub for North West Queensland, welcoming around 420 babies each year. As a Senior Medical Officer (O&G), you'll deliver broad-scope obstetric and gynaecology care across inpatient, outpatient, surgical and outreach settings in a supportive rural team environment.

In this role you will:

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecology care, including operative services and on-call
  • Perform point-of-care ultrasound across all trimesters and deliver termination services
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors within accredited training pathways

Working with us

Competitive remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $679, 037 p/a (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee) comprising:

  • Base salary ranges between $216,643 and $274,678 p/a (L18-L27).
  • Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
  • 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 50% base annual salary.
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary.
  • Motor vehicle allowance.
  • Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
  • Inaccessibility allowance.
  • Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).
  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
