The Executive Manager, Staff Support Services is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of a professional and cohesive employee assistance and peer support network throughout the state, which delivers high quality programs and services to support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of QAS employees, volunteers and their families, in line with regulatory compliance and best practice mental health models.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience relevant to the provision of contemporary best practice trauma support, psychological debriefing and peer support services in a frontline operational environment and the ability to manage the mental health care components relating to potentially traumatic workplace incidents.
• Proven leadership, management and supervision experience relevant to coordinating professional mental health care services, employee assistance and peer support programs in an emergency services environment, where services are delivered by internal and external providers, and the ability to capably evaluate and modify policies, programs and services as required, to effectively manage people and resources in frontline crises.
• Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to liaise, consult and collaborate with stakeholders, negotiate successful outcomes in relation to complex and/or sensitive issues, effectively resolve conflicts and deliver information sessions and training programs.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including the ability to enhance team relations, monitor team functionality, promote the wellbeing of team members and undertake performance management processes.
• Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to collate data, interpret trend/output/outcome performance data, provide advice and recommendations to senior executives which contributes to quality decision making and contribute to the development of strategic service planning initiatives.
• A proven commitment to ongoing personal professional development, clinical supervision, maintaining knowledge of current research outcomes in psychosocial health and actively contributing to professional memberships and networks.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Applicants must have a degree and/or a postgraduate qualification in psychology, social science, social work or Master of Counselling from a recognised tertiary institution; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner QAS.
• Applicants must have current registration or be able to meet the current registration requirements of the relevant professional body.
• The incumbent will be required to travel on official business and the possession of a “C” Class Driver's Licence is required.
