Role details

Mackay Base Hospital Theatre Unit is seeking applications for an Administration Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

The Theatre Receptionist provides a high level of confidential administrative support for the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS). This position is a prime point of contact for internal communication daily and externally with various departments and agencies.

The Theatre Receptionist responds to enquiries and provides information and assistance to staff, patients and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery within a hospital setting. Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff.

Staff and budget responsibilities:

  • Reports to: This position reports to the Business Manager.
  • Supervises: This position has no direct reports.
  • Human resource delegation: This position holds no HR delegation.
  • Financial delegation: This position holds no financial delegation.

About the Team

The Theatre Department delivers patient-centred care across the perioperative continuum, supporting patients from pre-admission through to surgery and immediate postoperative handover. The team provides elective and emergency surgical services across multiple specialties within a dynamic, technologically advanced environment.
