About the Team
The Social Work and Welfare Department at QCH is a dedicated, multidisciplinary team committed to supporting the psychosocial well-being of children, young people, and their families. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our department provides compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centred care across various clinical settings, including Acute, Medical, Oncology, Child Protection, CHQ at Home, and Post-Trauma services.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Practice
- Deliver quality paediatric Social Work services across the continuum of care to patients and families of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service as part of a team of social workers or within an inter-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary team, to provide tertiary level health services to children, adolescents, and families.
- To provide direct clinical social work services, that include routine psychosocial assessment and intervention for the emotional, behavioural, and psychosocial aspects of clinical care for children, young-people, and families.

- To keep accurate and confidential records of client assessment, therapy/interventions, and reports in keeping with the medico-legal requirements. The service also requires staff to maintain statistical data.
