- Salary range: $128,169 to $148,242 p.a. (HP4/NG7)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
Palm Island, also known as Great Palm Island, or by the Aboriginal name Bwgcolman (many tribes - one people), is the largest of twelve tropical Islands in the Palm Island Group. Palm Island is the largest discreet Indigenous community in Australia with approximately 4000 residents. Palm Island is 65 kilometres north of Townsville over sea. The Islands are serviced by a 20 min plane ride or one-and-a-half-hour ferry ride from Townsville.
The successful candidate will fly by plane or use the ferry to commute to and from Palm Island on a daily basis.
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology - appropriate tertiary degree from an accredited tertiary institution and registration with the applicable Board/Association in Australia.
- Nursing: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
- Highly Desirable: Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
