About the Role
As Principal Project Officer in the Business Partnerships & Advisory team in the Human Capital Management Solution Program you will be:
- Reading, administering and interpreting an integrated project schedule to anticipate upcoming needs and proactively organise resources.
- Participating in project meetings, understanding what is being asked, seeking clarification where needed, and translating those needs into clear, actionable communication.
- Managing expectations across multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to project managers, test managers, business leads, subject matter experts, finance, HR & business services and the incoming contractors and consultants to the program.
- Coordinating Departmental workforce participation across a large‑scale program, often at short notice, and ensuring they are well‑briefed, prepared and supported.
- Working with the HCMS operations team to ensure incoming workforce have access to systems, tools, offices and onboarding information so they can contribute effectively from day one.
- Building strong, positive relationships across the department, acting as a trusted point of contact and maintaining a strong customer‑service mindset.
- Helping maintain momentum in a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift quickly and resource utilisation needs to be tightly managed.
- Supporting project governance, reporting and coordination activities across the team as required.
What you'll bring:
- Experience coordinating people and activities across large, multi‑stream projects or programs.
- Confidence reading schedules, understanding dependencies and asking the right questions to clarify requirements.
- Strong communication skills written, verbal and interpersonal, with the ability to translate project needs into clear guidance for BAU staff.
- A proactive, relationship‑driven approach with a genuine customer service lens.
- The ability to stay organised, calm and solutions‑focused in a rapidly changing environment.
- Familiarity with project delivery environments (PRINCE2, PMBOK or similar) and comfort working with PMs, test managers and technical teams.
