About us:
Gladstone Hospital is a 83-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Basic Orthopaedic, Cancer Care, Clinical Investigation, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, High Dependency And Coronary Care, Palliative Care, Medical Imaging, Pathology, Paediatrics And a Renal Dialysis Unit.
The Pharmacy team provides patient centred dispensing and clinical pharmacy services to all areas of the hospital. Your day will be filled with meaningful interactions mentoring Junior Pharmacists, shaping clinical guidelines and ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care to directly enhance patient outcomes.
About the role:
This position will function as part of a team and is responsible for the provision of a broad range of contemporary clinical Pharmacy services to the Gladstone and Banana Health Service. Demonstration of high-level knowledge, skill and expertise will be recognised by experience, professional development, post graduate education and active participation in the Society of Hospital Pharmacists Australia Clinical Competency Achievement Tool (SHPA ClinCAT) assessment.
- Lead clinical pharmacy services to the wards and departments within Gladstone Hospital ensuring the development of Medication Action Plans (MAP), medication reconciliation, identification of clinical problems, establishment of therapeutic goals, individualisation of therapy, and monitoring of patient outcomes.
- Provide safe and efficient dispensing service to inpatients and outpatients ensuring patients are educated on the use of their medications.
- Provide safe and efficient oncology services, including chemotherapy ordering, patient education and all clinical aspects at Gladstone Hospital.
- Assist in managing the development of medicines protocols, department planning, problem solving, performance monitoring, and work practices development.
- Provide professional supervision and mentorship to junior pharmacists, undergraduate and postgraduate students and pharmacy support personnel.
About you:
- Possession of a degree in Pharmacy is mandatory for this position. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Pharmacist in Australia (or eligible for registration in Australia).
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
