The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships is seeking a Principal Project Officer (Indigenous Identified) to play a key role in strengthening partnerships with First Nations peoples and supporting innovative approaches to managing and protecting Queensland’s environment.

About the Role: Principal Project Officer (Indigenous Identified) 
In this role, you'll work alongside colleagues, First Nations partners and stakeholders to develop innovative policies and projects that reflect shared priorities.
You'll help advance the department's commitment to co-stewardship, ensuring that First Nations voices are central to the protection and management of Queensland's protected areas.
Your expertise and lived experience will be highly valued as you contribute to strategic planning, provide advice on policy and legislative matters, and help create practical tools that support inclusive and responsive ways of working.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include: 
* Lead and manage complex projects that strengthen partnerships with First Nations peoples.
* Develop and implement policy, procedures and initiatives to support improved environmental and land management outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with First Nations communities, government agencies and key stakeholders.
* Prepare briefings, reports, submissions and project documentation.
* Monitor project progress, budgets and outcomes to ensure successful delivery.

What we're looking for 
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and delivering results.
* Strong experience working collaboratively with First Nations peoples and communities.
* The ability to develop policy options and navigate complex issues.
* Experience engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders including government, community and First Nations organisations.
* High-level communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Experience in land management, environmental policy or natural resource management will be highly regarded.
