The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation's purpose is to minimise the potential for alcohol and gambling harm, ensure probity of those involves in the liquor and gaming industries as well as to ensure the integrity of those industries.

As a Probity Officer, your role will focus on ensuring the liquor and gaming industries continue to exhibit a high level of honesty, integrity and financial viability. You will work within a small and high performing team, conducting suitability investigations to determine the suitability of liquor and gaming applicants. You will evaluate a diverse range of legal and financial arrangements having regard to legislative requirements and regulatory objectives, while delivering a high level of client service.

As a Probity Investigator, you will be involved in assessing the suitability of individuals and corporations to be associated with the Queensland liquor and gaming industries while providing a high level of client service. You will need to have strong communication, organisation and written skills, be highly motivated and focused on delivering outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to review and critically analyse financial and legal agreements, arrangements, statements and reports in a complex legal and/or regulatory environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience in making recommendations, preparing briefing notes and correspondence for the consideration of the Queensland Liquor and Gaming Commissioner and the Minister.
  • The ability to evaluate issues that arise in a complex regulatory environment and generate solutions for recommendation to management.
  • The ability to work in high performing and collaborative team environment, including being highly motivated to deliver outcomes and being receptive to diverse perspectives.
  • Experience conducting probity investigations. A qualification in law or commerce related disciplines is also considered desirable.
