Senior Orthotist/ Prosthetist

We are currently in an innovative growth phase, supported by project funding where grant applications and quality‑improvement initiatives are actively encouraged. Our team has recently secured funding for a plantar pressure scanner evaluation project, hydrostatic casting equipment, and a health equity research project. We are continually seeking new innovations and investment opportunities, and as a senior clinician, you will be actively involved in these initiatives alongside your clinical workload. You will also have opportunity to support students and junior staff.

About the role
Temporary opportunity to provide orthotic/prosthetic services on a state-wide basis, demonstrating a broad understanding of the continuum of care. Utilising independent problem solving, providing and adapting clinical practice to meet the needs of a complex caseload of orthotic/prosthetic clients.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Utilise a high level of orthotic/prosthetic knowledge and clinical skills, routinely integrating evidence-based practice to ensure optimum care is employed within scope of service delivery.
- Provide timely high level clinical advice (both routine and non-routine) to a range of health professionals, supervisors and stakeholders, both internal and external to the district, without direct supervision, to ensure efficient and appropriate service delivery and the continuum of care.
- Collaboratively initiate quality and service improvement activities relating to the provision of Orthotic/Prosthetic services that are designed to meet the needs of the clients, customers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Actively maintain professional development, provide mentoring to other multidisciplinary clinicians, junior staff, and students, ensuring the maintenance of professional clinical standards.
