About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) delivers specialist support for people experiencing mental health, alcohol and other drug challenges across Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and the Central Highlands — and also supports adult patients from the Central West Hospital and Health Service. Altogether, that's a catchment of more than 250,000 people.

At the heart of it all is Rockhampton, our main hub. From here we provide medical coverage, professional supervision, Mental Health Act (2016) administration, program implementation and accreditation support, along with acute inpatient services that back up mental health teams right across the region. In short — it's a big team delivering vital care across a big part of Queensland.

About the role:

  • As a Registered Nurse in the Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient Unit, you'll deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice, working closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • You'll bring your clinical skills and compassion to the role, demonstrating strong nursing competence while caring for both inpatients and outpatients within the service.
  • The role involves both delegating and undertaking clinical activities, with clear accountability for your actions and decisions within your scope of practice.
  • You'll also provide guidance and support to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and healthcare workers, ensuring care is delivered safely and collaboratively.
  • Professionally and operationally, you'll report to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Director of Nursing (DON) or Facility Manager, working together to maintain a high standard of care across the service.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $124,741 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $42.98 - $55.13 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
