Lead the delivery of strategic property disposal outcomes for Queensland. As Manager (Development Projects) you will lead and coordinate a high performing team to deliver property disposal activities in line with legislative, governance and whole of government requirements. Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders across government and industry, you will provide timely strategic advice, contribute to high level submissions and policy development, and support integrated transport and development outcomes to deliver value for the Queensland community.

The purpose of the Manager (Development Projects) is to support the Director (Development Projects and Rail Corridor Management) and Executive Director (Property) by managing the delivery of a property disposals program for the Portfolio Investment and Programming unit. You will manage the program to achieve the desired outcomes within required timeframes and ensure this is undertaken with appropriate governance and in compliance with relevant legislation, departmental policies, guidelines and standards. 

Some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead, manage and coordinate the Property Disposals Team 
  • Develop and foster strong and effective partnerships with teams and clients internally and with other Government Agencies, local government authorities and Property Industry professionals in relation to property disposals and provide advice on the State's preference 
  • Provide strategic advice to the Director and Executive Director on all property disposal related matters, often within short timeframes and limited notice  
  • Review and critically evaluate Cabinet submissions, reports, briefings and other related documents to ensure alignment, quality and relevance to Whole-ofGovernment and Departmental priorities 
  • Contribute as required to facilitating the delivery of a variety of projects and opportunities across the Development Projects Unit to achieve desired outcomes

Mandatory qualifications and conditions 

  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.  
  • Applicants must hold and maintain a current Class C driver license.  

Requirements of the role 

  • Possession of a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Property Economics or Property Valuation) will be highly desirable.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategically and think critically.  
  • Ability to demonstrate sound governance and maintain a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
