About us:

Child Development Services (CDS) provides transdisciplinary paediatric allied health assessment services to children aged 0 – 8 years with developmental differences and complex developmental delays. CDS supports families to build on their understanding of their child's developmental delay or disability and facilitate transition to supports such as early intervention and community programs.

About the role:

The Allied Health Clinical Intake Officer (Paediatric) (AHCIO) will support both the CDS and Community Paediatric services through a single-entry intake model of care for children and their families as part of a multidisciplinary Allied Health team within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service Paediatric Services.

As the first point of contact for the service, the role will provide clinical and problem-solving skills in the full scope of allied health practice in relation to delivering an integrated referral, triage and first clinical management service for children and their families/carers.

You will also provide high-level knowledge, skills and excellence to ensure referrals are triaged and managed according to clinical and family needs, aiming to provide families with the right service, at the right time and in the right place, and effective care co-ordination.

  • Provide clinical expertise and apply independent professional judgement in managing crisis situations and co-ordination of service provision to effectively link children and their families/carers to the appropriate services.
  • Apply high-level clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based clinical services and contemporary practice for a multi-disciplinary CDS team in the areas of child health, developmental disorders and disability.
  • Provide clinical practice supervision to clinicians, supporting discipline-specific and child development training and education activities, encouraging high performance and building clinical capabilities.

About you:

Appointment to this position requires possession of a degree of a relevant allied health profession, recognised under the Health Practitioner Award 2007 Agreement.

  • Possession of relevant post graduate experience and/or qualifications relevant to the responsibilities of the position if highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $78,679 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
