The Queensland Revenue Office is seeking to fill a permanent AO5 Senior Revenue Officer - Level 1 vacancy in Brisbane. In this role, you will analyse, interpret and apply relevant legislation and policy on revenue and taxation matters.
This vacancy is available in the Payroll Tax, Mental Health Levy and Betting Tax division, however this process may be used to fill additional AO5 Senior Revenue Officer - Level 1 vacancies in Brisbane within the next 12 months.

In the role of AO5 Senior Revenue Officer - Level 1, you will analyse, interpret and apply relevant legislation and policy on revenue and taxation matters. You will make assessments, and/or approve grants, respond to technical enquiries, analyse data and exercise functions to deliver services to our clients. You will also assist the team leader in leading, supporting and coaching team members to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Your typical day as a Senior Revenue Officer - Level 1 may include:
• Interpreting and applying legislation to taxation matters
• Analysing data, generating reports, managing work allocations to team members
• Training, mentoring and technical escalation support
• Identifying and implementing operational processing improvements
• Implementing client education strategies
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
• High level interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing.
• Demonstrated capability to use information to improve work practices that support a high performing team.
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems.
• Ability to review and analyse data and legislation to make sound decisions.
• Understanding of the principles of risk-based decision making.
