The Collection Curation and Engagement team plays a vital role in bringing these collections to life. With a strong focus on the iconic John Oxley Library collection, the team works to grow engagement with Queensland's memory collections by curating exhibitions, supporting researchers, delivering events and partnering with the GLAM sector. The team also leads State Library's Fellowship program, helping scholars, artists and researchers explore and interpret Queensland's stories in new and exciting ways.
We are seeking an organised and proactive team member to support the delivery of this important work. This role plays a key part in enabling the team's activities through high-quality administrative coordination and operational support.
In this role you will contribute to a range of activities that help connect audiences with State Library's collections. You will assist with day-to-day administrative functions and ensure key processes run smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support for collection engagement activities, managing financial administration tasks such as orders and payments, and maintaining accurate records in line with State Library corporate procedures. You will also help keep internal and public information up to date across platforms including the State Library website, intranet, SharePoint and customer databases.
Supporting effective collaboration across the team will also be an important part of your work. You will coordinate meetings, book spaces, prepare agendas and minutes, and help track progress on actions and decisions.
This is a role suited to someone who enjoys working behind the scenes and enjoys interacting with stakeholders to enable impactful programs and experiences. Your organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks will help the team deliver high-quality engagement with Queensland's unique collections.
Highly regarded skills include prior experience in an administration/project role with Government and experience working with collections in a cultural institution/organisation.
If you are passionate about supporting cultural programs, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, have exceptional administrative skills and want to contribute to connecting people with Queensland's past and present, we would love to hear from you.
