About us:
Child Development Services (CDS) provides transdisciplinary paediatric allied health assessment services to children aged 0 – 8 years with developmental differences and complex developmental delays. Child Development Service supports families to build on their understanding of their child's developmental delay or disability and facilitate transition to supports, such as early intervention and community programs.
About the role:
The Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatric) demonstrates high level of knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of clinical child development services (CDSs) for children and their families as part of a multidisciplinary Allied Health team within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) Paediatric Services.
It will be the responsibility of the role to provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary CDS team, delivering high-level clinical services including assessment, analysis, health specific intervention, and case management for children with complex development delays. As part of a flexible dynamic team, this role (if required) will also be supported to provide services in high-risk infant follow up and inpatient paediatric service delivery.
About you:
- Appointment to this position requires the possession of a tertiary degree in speech pathology and eligibility for practicing membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
- While not mandatory, additional possession/or working towards of a relevant qualification would be well regarded (for example, post graduate studies in a paediatric speech pathology).
- Current SPA membership would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary allied health practice, with the ability to provide clinical advice, resolve complex service challenges, and promote culturally safe, clinically appropriate care.
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge and application of evidence-based practice in child health, developmental disorders, and disability to apply independent professional judgement and problem-solving skills to caseload management.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $62,943 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
