Educational Interpreters play a critical role in ensuring equitable access to the curriculum, classroom instruction, and school life by providing high-quality Auslan-English interpreting services.
About the Role
As a Teacher Aide (Educational Interpreter - Auslan), you will:
- Provide Auslan-English interpreting in classroom and school settings
- Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to access curriculum content and classroom interactions
- Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists and school leadership
- Maintain professional interpreting standards and ethical boundaries
- Contribute to inclusive education practices and culturally safe learning environments
Appointments may be Permanent or Temporary, Full-time or Part-time, depending on school need and available vacancies.
Applicants must:
- Indicate their preferred geographic location(s) within Queensland as part of their application
- Be aware that vacancies may arise at various times throughout the year
- Understand that appointment will occur only when a suitable vacancy becomes available
The recruitment panel will convene monthly to review applications and assess suitability for inclusion in the pool.
