With the leadership of a highly experienced, recently appointed Palliative Care consultant, we are transforming our service structure and increasing staffing levels. About the role:
The Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist / Senior Medical Officer roles will:
- Deliver inpatient, community, and consultative specialist Palliative Care services across CQ Health.
- Provide professional leadership to staff throughout the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), actively contributing to multidisciplinary care teams.
- Oversee the organisation, management, and delivery of specialist clinical Palliative Care services within CQ Health.
- Have well-developed ability to direct the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Ensure the provision of regular outpatient clinics for palliative care patients including outreach services at other CQ Health facilities.
- Have the ability to actively promote, consider and respect the input of the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient centred goals by listening, providing relevant and timely information and adapting your style to suit others.
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia is mandatory for this position.
- Staff Specialist Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Palliative Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory. This will require Fellowship of the Australian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAChPM – RACP). Applicants with extensive experience in palliative medicine may also be considered.
- Senior Medical Officer: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in General Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory. This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australia College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) with extensive experience in palliative medicine. While not mandatory, it will be highly regarded to have Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
- Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $550,085 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $259,072 - $274,678 p.a. (L25 – L27)
- A salary rate between $216,643 - $251,642 p.a. (L18 – L24)
- A salary rate between $187,569 - $259,072 p.a. (L13 – L25)
- A salary rate between $187,569 - $193,436 p.a. (L13 – L14)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
