Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospitals and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Emerald Hospital provides services at the Capella Primary Health Clinic and the Gemfields Primary Health Clinic.
Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
About the role:
- You will provide timely, high level, quality, confidential administrative support service to the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service as required.
- Undertake administrative support tasks and functions for a variety of departments, ensuring effective day to day operations are maintained, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, self-direction and independence in the absence of direct supervision.
- Demonstrate knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of a large number of specialised PC based systems.
- Carry out general clerical duties such as but not limited to answering telephones/switchboard queries in a professional manner, filing, word processing, data entry and maintaining records including medical records, banking and mailing.
- Make appointments, reschedule appointments, confirm and business activity statements clinics as requested.
About you:
- Possession of tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with staff and the public.
- Ability to plan, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads, whilst working autonomously and to be flexible in a changing work environment.
- Use initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to resolve problems.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication (written and oral), problem solving and negotiation skills to enhance ability to work successfully within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to maintain discretion, act professionally, patiently and display a calm and confident approach when conversing with consumers.
- Ability to utilise high level knowledge and skills with personalised computer (PC) based systems, with particular expertise in the application of keyboard, word processing, spread sheeting and database services.
What we offer:
- An hourly rate between $49.97 - $55.57 p.h. (includes 25% casual loading)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
