The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advanced Exercise Physiologist role functions within the Preventative Health Pathways program which is a multidisciplinary team that promotes integrated service provision across the continuum, consistent with principles of client self-management and Hospital Avoidance. The Advanced Exercise Physiologist will manage the operational delivery of clinical services for the multi-disciplinary team and will apply well-developed clinical knowledge and skills to contribute to the strategic direction of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Directorate. The Advanced Exercise Physiologist will deliver advanced Exercise Physiology services, including exercise prescription, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate a practical understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inequities, and health issues to deliver informed, evidence based culturally appropriate care including knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills in the provision of client care and advocacy. Including working collaboratively and in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, health service providers and other health professionals.
- Demonstrated skills and ability to autonomously manage and prioritise own workload while also providing leadership, clinical direction, and workforce development for the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating initiative and flexibility in relation to service delivery and the ability to prepare and distribute high quality reporting focusing on activity and outcomes for service provision and advice on strategic alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver an advanced level of clinical skill in one or more areas of a complex nature with the ability to independently apply specialist and novel judgement to meet the needs of patients across the continuum of care.
Remuneration value up to $14 384 p.m., comprising salary between $5557.50 - $5798.90 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (Fixed Term Temporary Full Time position available for 8 weeks).
