In the role of Construction Worker (Supervisor) you will supervise the delivery of civil infrastructure projects throughout all phases of the project cycle to ensure construction and maintenance services meet client and business objectives. You will assist in the effective supervision and utilisation of resources to achieve project outcomes and provide leadership in the implementation of change initiatives at the project level. You will also develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and the project team.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Assist in the management of projects through all phases of the project cycle.
• Liaise and communicate with client, stakeholder and project team to assist in the successful delivery of project outcomes.
• Provide support and coaching to team members to assist in their skills development and achievement of project goals.
• Manage the project team utilising your extensive project experience.
• Manage daily projects records.
• Be innovative and creative in problem solving.
• Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure labour, plant and equipment availability meets project delivery demands and allows continuity of the project work schedule.
• Implement staff performance systems to monitor, manage and report staff performance on site.
• Support employees undertaking Civil Trades Development Program by providing opportunities for skilling and training consistent with training plans.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical as part of our selection process for this role.
• You may be required to travel to other locations to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• Possession of a Certificate III in Civil Construction applicable to modern transport infrastructure projects, plus core Leadership and Management competencies, is required. Alternatively, applicants must have the ability to acquire these competencies within 36 months.
• RoadTek tradespersons will be expected to gain and maintain competencies that are consistent with business needs (mainly mobility between business units), through participation in the Civil Trades Development Program (CTDP).
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Desirable requirements
• Certificate IV in Civil Supervision (Leadership and Management competencies) or the ability to complete within 36 months of commencement.

Requirements of the role:
• Knows and applies project management principles and methodology and works within these to achieve project outcomes.
• Applies high level of knowledge and experience in civil construction or maintenance of road and/or structure construction and/or maintenance practices and principles.
• Works with the team to organise work priorities so they deliver on broader organisational commitments.
• Initiates two-way collaborations by providing information and advice in a timely, proactive and non-technical manner, supporting the team to do the same.
• Promotes integrity in the management and use of processes and resources, ensuring others have the information and training they need for successful implementation.

Employment conditions:
• 76-hour fortnight.
• As required by the program of works.
