The Inspector role provides support to the coal mining inspectorate within Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ). An Inspector of Mines carries out the functions of an inspector ensuring that the coal mining industry operates at an acceptable level of risk. The role provides technical advice on a range of mining safety and health matters to industry, the government, and the community - in particular on aspects relating to matters at underground coal mines.
You will ensure compliance activities are applied in line with RSHQ's Compliance and Enforcement Policy, provide the Regional Inspector of Mines and senior management authoritative, professional and timely advice on issues related to mines in the Region to enable informed, data-driven, and risk-based decisions. Among other regulatory activities you will also assist in the review of legislation and standards and represent RSHQ on technical and seminar/conference committees.
