The Principal Community Services Officer is responsible for leading and coordinating the development, implementation, evaluation and review of partnerships and service planning initiatives involving the department and key stakeholders, including government and non-government agencies, in line with the Youth Justice Strategy.

Key responsibilities

As the Principal Community Services Officer, you will specifically:

• Coordinate the operation of high level, strategic multi-agency initiatives including Multi-agency Collaborative Panels
• Provide leadership in the implementation of strategies that facilitate and sustain the formation of partnerships between the department and key stakeholders within the region and at a local level.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
• Represent youth justice at regional consultation forums, committees or working groups as required.
• Facilitate the effective engagement in the partnership of people, communities and organisations from First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Develop and lead a strong, integrated multi-agency service system in collaboration with non-government funded and unfunded provider/s, and relevant government agencies at a local level.
• Conduct planning activities, including service mapping and outcome monitoring and evaluation, to identify potential challenges and enhance service delivery.
• Promote learning and information sharing in relation to services, networks, and referral pathways within the community, through such means as site mentoring, delivery of learning and development opportunities, and via the preparation of a range of high-quality communication materials.

Mandatory requirements

Travel: While the position is based in Ipswich, travel within the region for site visits and to other regional offices will be required in this role and may include overnight stays.
Drivers' license: it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted driver's licence. Officers are required to drive government vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work.
• This role provides support services to children and young people and therefore will require a valid Blue Card with the organisation. Please refer to the Blue Card Services website (http://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au/) for further information.
