About the Role

The position of Provisional Fellowship in Paediatric Anaesthesia (Senior Registrar Anaesthetics):

  • Provides professional expertise and services within a tertiary setting through the Department of Anaesthesia including after hours and on call duties. The aim is to ensure a high quality, safe and family centred care within CHQ HHS and for designated outreach to local locations where CHQ HHS patients may require anaesthesia for care / treatment (e.g. Radiation Oncology Mater Centre, Mater Mothers NICU, RBWH NICU, RBWH PET scan facility).
  • The position of Fellow is for an anaesthetic consultant (FANZCA), a registrar in their final year of training (provisional fellow) or an experienced anaesthetic registrar of similar experience from an equivalent training programme, seeking further experience or training in the subspecialty area of paediatric anaesthesia.
  • There are a number of 6-month and 12-month positions available commencing in commencing in February and August 2027.
  • Please note positions in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) are separate from this position, and need to be applied for through the PICU.
  • The Fellows in our Department are well supported, with a dedicated group of Fellow support consultants providing oversight, support, and modifications to the program to best match fellow needs with clinical exposure.
