About us:

Central Queensland Oral Health Service strives to provide a fair and equitable oral health service to the eligible clientele with emphasis on providing evidence based dental treatment in the context of public health dentistry, whilst maintaining a supportive work environment for the oral health staff.

Oral Health Service in Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) comprises of eleven community dental clinics based within the geographical boundaries of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services, including: Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Emerald, Springsure, Blackwater, Moura, Biloela, Mount Morgan, Woorabinda and Capricornia Correctional Centre.  In addition to these, CQ Oral Health Service also comprises of several fixed and mobile school dental clinics. 

About the role:

  • Possess clinical skills, knowledge and competence in accordance with the level of experience and provide the full range of clinical procedures within the general dental scope of practice. Be proficient in dental extractions, direct restorations, dentures, preventive dentistry.
  • This position of Dentist would be required to work mainly at the Rockhampton Community Dental Clinic on a regular basis. Outreach may be required to areas such as Biloela, Woorabinda, and Mount Morgan.
  • This role may require travel to outreach clinics involving stays of up to 5 business days at a time and be required to work in a variety of locations throughout the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
  • Perform treatment under Relative Analgesia (RA) or under General Anaesthesia (GA) (subject to training and experience).
  • Supervise dental students (for clinicians with 3+ years' experience).
  • Support the development of district-wide Quality Management Program for implementation across the Central Queensland Oral Health Service.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Possession of a licence to use radiation apparatus for dental purposes is required.
  • The successful applicant must complete an application for a Medicare provider number for a dentist for the required location/s within CQHHS Oral Health Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals, groups and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated good understanding of public health dentistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in relevant professional development and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including liaising effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $170,573 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.45 - $75.39 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Casual hourly rate of $80.56 - $94.24 p.h. (Including 25% Casual Loading)
