OO4 Ranger (Fire Operations)
Are you passionate about fire management and protecting Queensland's natural environment? Join the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Central Region Fire Team to help plan and deliver the region's fire management program.
As a Ranger (Fire Operations), you will assist operational teams across the region with on-ground fire management and strategic fire planning to ensure the effective delivery of fire programs. Experience in operational fire management is highly desirable.
This role offers a mix of outdoor fieldwork and office-based tasks, providing opportunities to develop your practical skills and work collaboratively to tackle both routine and complex challenges.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Practical experience in on-ground fire management.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
* A commitment to workplace health and safety (physical and psychological).
* Proficiency in administration, reporting, and computer systems.
Requirements:
* A current manual driver's licence is essential.
* While not mandatory, formal qualifications in fire management will be highly regarded.
* You must be willing and able to travel regularly, including extended deployments and after-hours work, which may involve camping overnight in remote areas.
* A reasonable level of fitness is required to meet the demands of the role.
This position is based in the Central Region, with the location negotiable. Please note that accommodation is not provided for this role.
