Please note that this position is currently within a shared service unit within Queensland Police Service and is scheduled to transition to Queensland Fire Department (QFD) as part of a Machinery of Government Change in mid-2026.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Provide Tier 2 support of business-critical services and systems, and deliver appropriate technical advice and service to customers.
  • Monitor performance of applications and report on opportunities to improve production processing applications.
  • Provide incident troubleshooting and resolution for system components including servers, applications and databases.
  • Actively participate in the identification of operational system-related risks and issues.
  • Participate in skills transfer activities to successfully transition Command & Control Centre to new systems.
  • Work with and maintain processes and procedures used by Command & Control Centre to ensure the successful implementation of systems administration and management.

Role Requirements

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience: 

Highly desirable

  • MS Windows Server 
  • Network Load Balancing (BIGIP F5)
  • Support of Windows-based applications and operating systems
  • Microsoft .Net Web services
  • ITIL Foundations V3 & above 
  • Microsoft Windows 
  • Office 365 (Administration)
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • InTune

Desirable

  • ITSM Toolset knowledge and support
  • Enterprise application support
  • Microsoft SQL Server 
  • Server and application monitoring tools (SCOM, Splunk)
  • Microsoft SCCM 
  • Domain Administration
