Please note that this position is currently within a shared service unit within Queensland Police Service and is scheduled to transition to Queensland Fire Department (QFD) as part of a Machinery of Government Change in mid-2026.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide Tier 2 support of business-critical services and systems, and deliver appropriate technical advice and service to customers.
- Monitor performance of applications and report on opportunities to improve production processing applications.
- Provide incident troubleshooting and resolution for system components including servers, applications and databases.
- Actively participate in the identification of operational system-related risks and issues.
- Participate in skills transfer activities to successfully transition Command & Control Centre to new systems.
- Work with and maintain processes and procedures used by Command & Control Centre to ensure the successful implementation of systems administration and management.

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:

- MS Windows Server
- Network Load Balancing (BIGIP F5)
- Support of Windows-based applications and operating systems
- Microsoft .Net Web services
- ITIL Foundations V3 & above
- Microsoft Windows
- Office 365 (Administration)
- Microsoft SharePoint
- InTune
Desirable
- ITSM Toolset knowledge and support
- Enterprise application support
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Server and application monitoring tools (SCOM, Splunk)
- Microsoft SCCM
- Domain Administration
