RoadTek's Downs South West Operations Unit, within the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), delivers innovative transport infrastructure solutions operating from Warwick, Toowoomba and Roma. In the role of Project Coordinator, you will plan and coordinate the activities of multifunctional work crews across civil infrastructure to ensure efficient performance across the works program. You will assist with monitoring project management systems to ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety legislation, Environmental legislation and Quality Assurance System.

Accountabilities include:
• Assist with management of resources, subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources for projects.
• Assist with programming and managing the short-term works program.
• Identify potential risks and monitor and review operations throughout the life of the project in conjunction with Project Managers and Supervisors.
• Assess effectiveness and efficiency of activities and implement continuous improvement in consultation with Project Managers and Supervisors.
• Support and assist with building cohesive, effective teams with assistance from project Supervisors.
• Mentor, coach and provide development opportunities for project staff.
• Establish and maintain effective communication across projects.
• Assist estimating team(s) in tendering and estimating phases for projects and/or minor works.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Desirable requirements:
• Completion of Certificate IV Project Management and accredited Frontline Management qualification.

• Apply relevant knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to road project activities.
• Accepts decision making responsibility and demonstrates judgement about when to escalate issues.
• Clearly describes the rationale behind decisions and works with others to recognise potential bias.
• Demonstrates careful planning and organisation to achieve results.
• Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards.

Employment conditions:
• 72.5-hour fortnight.
• As required by the program of works, 10/4 and 11/3 work cycles may be undertaken when working regionally or remotely. On these occasions, appropriate overtime and penalty rates will apply, along with living-away-from-home entitlements.
